Barbara Ortiz, Family Leadership Coordinator

Barbara Ortiz started her professional journey with the New York City Public Schools in the fall of 1997, marking the commencement of a career dedicated to service in public education. She attributes her early growth and aspiration to work with the Committee on Special Education in District 9, as a hallmark of her career. This formative period instilled in her a profound sense of purpose and commitment to advocating for the diverse needs of all students. Later in life, Barbara decided to embark on her own transformative journey in higher education and worked diligently to earn her Bachelor of Science in human resources. This academic pursuit has served as a pathway to leverage her skill sets and knowledgebase in meaningful ways to impact society at scale.
