Stacy Livingston, Director of Early Childhood Education

Throughout her nineteen years as an educator, Stacy has held various positions at school and district levels, acquiring knowledge through a multitude of experiences.  These experiences include: designing and providing professional development for superintendents, school building leaders and teachers; supervising and observing teachers, related service providers and paraprofessionals, along with providing them immediate feedback with next steps; modeling best practices for Literacy instruction and teaching students with disabilities; coordinating and collaborating with related community agencies and programs to provide vocational opportunities for students; developing policies and procedures for establishing safe, welcoming school communities that utilize rigorous curricula, resources and supplemental materials that meet the varying needs of all students to maximize their full potential; developing and administering systems to monitor student progress; and evaluating instituted program effectiveness.

Stacy’s educational philosophy is simple…there is no better way to dismantle historical inequity than to provide effective education. Being literate is a civil right!  It is her belief that part of an effective education includes listening to the child’s story of their own experience before we tell our story of who we think the child is.  Each student, from the onset of their educational journey, has the right to receive the best education possible.  It is within the earliest years that we begin to help our students strive to be a proud, productive, participating member of society.  School should be a place where students feel safe, nurtured, valued, and encouraged to maximize their potential.  She aims to support and respect the aspirations of each student, by equipping them with the necessary skills that promote their independence, in addition to facilitating their ability to build and maintain positive relationships.  Her goal is to encourage exploration and a love for learning, by implementing and maintaining high-quality instruction and family engagement practices.
